The European portion of the TTXGP electric motorcycle racing season gets under way today at Silverstone Circuit and the eight-strong grid has been officially announced. Competition should be pretty fierce with last year's UK champs, Team Agni, facing off against newcomers Team Berix from Sweden and Team Prozza of Japan as well as last year's world champions, Münch Racing, with Matthias Himmelmann gripping the handlebars of a new bike.

Also fielding new hardware is ARC EV Racing (formally MRB Racing) who have already put in some practice laps with satisfying results. TTXGP Euro 2010 champs CRP Racing is bringing two of its Italian-flavored bikes to the party and has retained the skillful and entertaining Alessandro Brannetti as a rider. Missing from the action is China's Team Zhongshen - it is expected to participate later in the season - as well as Electric Hussar's Pete Ward who is fulfilling his national duty in Afghanistan. We wish all riders the best of luck and a safe race.

To help set the mood for this weekend's festivities, hit the jump for amazing never-before-seen footage from TTXGP's first ever event, the 2009 race on the Isle of Man. Enjoy!
